In order to realize practical and industrial research, consulting and further education, the WBA closely cooperates with leading companies of the tool and die industry. Thus, science and practical experience can be interlinked successfully.
Fundamentally, the members of the WBA can be categorized into tool shops and cooperation members. For tool shops, they can choose between three kinds of memberships (Premium, Business, Basic), ranging in the intensity of the cooperation.
On the one hand, the purpose of the cooperation is to communicate information and ideas with respect to current technological and organizational developments in the tool and die industry. On the other hand, the members of the WBA have extensive opportunities to participate in further education programs, projects, studies and best-practice groups as well as utilize the infrastructure of the demonstration tool shop on the RWTH Aachen Campus. The services offered to members depends on the type of membership.
Apart from tool shops, the WBA also closely cooperates with its cooperation members. These include companies operating closely to the tool and die industry, such as machine manufacturers, IT service providers or material suppliers. The exact extent of the cooperation is individually determined.
